How to Install AliceSoft Games Author: Gastalt Updated: 2002-03-12 To Run/Install AliceSoft Games in English Windows 95/98 We all know that most AliceSoft Games have Japanese filenames for the gamedata files. I won't get too much into that since it's already known....blah blah blah...On with the help!! Method one:(Faster method, but Program can cause minor Windows problems) Download Richwin(a program that can make Windows recognize Japanese filenames and fonts) Install the update and run the program. The game should be able to be moved to the HD and will install fine too!! *Note if you install the game in the original Japanese folders(Richwin will allow this)Windows will not run the game...Richwin can only make Windows do so much, so Please rename the game folder to something in English.* Enjoy (Richwin 2000 Download) http://soft.zsnet.com/softview.php3?id=382 Method Two:(Most PC friendly but longest) Download DosShell98(a newer version of a very old DOS based Windows Explorer like program) No need to install, just run the Program and Click the Drive with the game CD in it. You can Drag and Drop the Ald files from the CD to the "C" drive. After you exit Dosshell you can rename the files to ___GA.ALD ___SA.ALD and so on... just make sure the line is the same length in all ALD files. Run the game...no need to use the installer!!
