Running Kakyusei95 on Non-Jwin OS
Author: Lamuness
Updated: 1999-12-17

The main problem with Kakyusei95 is that the volume label of the 2 cds are in non-alphanumerical format and non-jwin OS can't accept such. Actually, not only that, but also the game's setting file needs to record the cd volume label to it after installation and if you are not using Japanese Windows this can't be done and therefore the game cannot be executed. However, there is a way to get around it. Install the game first, and then:
  • Insert the second Kakyusei95 CD-ROM, and open Windows Explorer.

  • Check the CD-ROM drive properties.

  • You should see the thing in VOLUME LABEL highlighted. Copy this "thing"
by right- clicking on that highlighted thing and select copy.

  • Go to the directory where you installed Kakyusei95.

  • Look for a file called ai5win.ini and open it with Notepad.

  • After the line "TITLE=", paste the thing onto the document, making it "TITLE=^&%_&*^2".

  • The number "2" should be at the end of the line. Delete the "2" and ONLY the "2" making it "TITLE="&*(%%%".

  • Close the file and save it.

  • Run the EXE file and enjoy!
Enjoy!
