"First Kiss Story" is a 2000 OVA shot based on the PC and Playstation visual novel of the same name. Don't ask who made the game or when the game was created becuase I have no clue. I don't even know if there's only one OVA or if there's more of this series that not many people know about. (To those who have played the game before or who even knows a lot about this series in general, please don't hesitate to contact me.)
Orikura Kana has to give out her feelings to someone she likes. Just when Yoshihiko, the guy Kana likes, goes away for college, a new tenant by the name of Shougo appears in Kana's house. Adding on, he's Kana's student-teacher for the time being and he strongly holds some sort of resemblance to someone she knows so well.
Fun - 10
Kana is a likable lead character and I have to say that all of the characters were likable for the most part. Yeah, some characters ruined the flow of the story, but I'm sure it is typical in the game. Ha ha ha!
If I had to give out a flaw, it's that unless you have played the game, you'll wonder what in the world just went on. Whether or not that the staff wanting to make this only a one shot OVA is intentional, I don't know. All I know is that I had a fun time watching this.
Life - 10
In my case, I would definitely make this a keeper, especially if I want to know more about the game. As for the standard fan, they're most likely going to see it once and that'll be it. "Must study more about the game."
Story - 10
Well, it stays true to its nature I suppose. Plus, even if I hadn't played the game, the story seems to be interesting. So, this gets a perfect score from me.
Audio - 10
I assume that the music and seiyuu were kept. So I'm not going to go into detail. Ha ha ha!
Art - 10
You have your usual game based art. Coming from someone who has never played the game, the art looks pretty darn good. Kana is just as kawaii as a button and the same goes for Manami, her sister. I don't know why, but Yayoi, their mother, just attracts me. Oh well. The guys look fine and as for flaws, what flaws?
Overall - 10
Like many series, "First Kiss Story" is a hit or miss shot. I can say that the staff has now made me wanting to play the game this is based on. Now, if I can only find someone with this game and a translator for me.
