To all those Taiwan gamers out there, Lords of Ancient Kindgom was released 2 months ago, and boy what a disappointment it was. :( For most Chinese gamers out there, The Super dimensional heroes series should not be a stranger to you. It was the series that saved U&J and the series which made them extremely successful. After the release of Super 1, U&J decided to come out with Super 2 and then Super 2 the side story, and all three of them are very good games and definitely worth buying, but then they released LOAK. I have been looking at screen shots and ads since the development and I have to say that I am a little disappointed at the final outcome of the game.

Lords of Ancient Kingdom takes place in a totally different world from the Super series, and just like the side story, the player can choose between two main characters, one from the Western side and one from the Eastern side. The Western side's main character is a demon and of course coming from the west, most of the spells are black white magic with elfs and goblins and so on, while on the east side, the character is more asianized and there are samurias, ninjas and ying yang magicians.

The story of the game is lame comparing to the Super series and I did not really like it that much. The job changing system in the game was also changed dramatically from the Super series, instead of being able to change job every 10 levels, sometimes you will have to reach level 40 before you could change jobs. Kinda sucks. The elf lady from the West side have to reach level 70 before she can change into her final job. It is a pain in the butt. But overall, the game's graphic and music was improved from the Super series and I guess that's something to compliment U&J on :)

Here are the ratings I give to this game:

Gameplay: 7/10
The gameplay was not as good as the Super series mainly because of the fact of the change in the job changing process. The added side quests are a nice addition to the game though.

Music: 8/10
I always did like U&J music, so I would say that the music is really good, they are all Cd tracks and they have the feel of being in the western land and the Eastern lands.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are good and the spells effects are improved as well, The background are just simply amazing and the characters looks better than the Super series, a general improvement over the Super series.

Story: 7/10
The story is not as good as the one in the Super series, and I don't think there will or should be a sequel made along the same storyline.

Overall: 7.5/10
Overall this game is worth plaing once, but not worth plaing again and again, due to the lack of jobs plus the story is not attractive enough for a player to look for all the secrets.

Lords of Ancient Kingdom is made by U&J and all rights are reserved to that company.
