People might wonder what is the most anticipated 3D adventure game that will come out after Resident Evil 2. Other people might ask other questions such as, Will there be any other 3D shooter that will be as good as Resident Evil 2? Well, the answer just came out a couple of weeks ago. Metal Gear Solid by Konami is extremely good and I must say it beats Resident Evil 2 in almost everyway.
Konami really outdid themselves in Metal Gear Solid. Within the package of Metal Gear Solid also comes the demo of another highly anticipated RPG sequel "Genso Suikoden 2". With all these great games lined up. Konami takes center stage during the fall section of 1998. The basic story that revolves around Metal Gear Solid is that an espionage agent "Snake" was sent into the enemy base to rescue two government officials that were captured and also he was to find out if the terrioists really have the nuclear weapon that they claim to have. The whole story really sounds like a hollywood movie :)
The gameplay is very unique. Instead of having a lot of ammos as in Resident Evil, Snake has really limited ammo, and usually he will have to hide and use other techniques to by-pass the guards instead of killing every single one of them. Unlike the Zombies in Resident Evil, the enemy shoots back with machine guns and chucks grenades at you. The gameplay is insanely hard. Imagine trying to get out of the vision sight of 3-4 guards in the same room with limited obstacles. In the end, however, you will get more weapons, cause you will need to shoot some enemies.
The plot of the game thickens when snake finds out that the government are hiding something from him and that he is acting without knowing the truth behind the sinister plot of the terrioists. Saying more about that plot will ruin it, so get it and make sure you play it :)

Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay is simply amazing. The idea that you must hide instead of killing everyone was first used in the NES game Metal Gear also by Konami a long time ago, but since this game is it 3D, you can imagine the difficulty. There are insane numbers of secret stuff you could pick up to help you along the way. One of my favorites is the cardboard box which allows you to hide under it. :)
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are really good, but the background tends to be a little on the dark side since the whole opeartion takes place at night. The cut scenes are not as good as the ones in RE2, but they are passable. Very nice voice acting too :)
Story: 7/10
Not the most original story in the world, but the enemy design and the land based nuclear launcher metal gear is very attractive, and keeps me wanting to play to the very end.
Music: 8/10
The music is not bad, there are suspense in the music, however I like softer and more romantic music so I can't say I really liked the muscial track.
Overall: 9/10
Overall this is an insane 3D action game, and anyone who dares to miss it will be sorry :) Take my advice, it is good and additive :)
