Dragon Ball no doubt is amongst one of the most successful anime seriesin Japan. It started off with Dragon Ball, then goes on to Dragon Ball Z,and the series ended last year with Dragon Ball GT. The whole series lastedover 400 episodes. Many many dragon ball games have been released since theten years of dragonball history. There are DB games for almost every gamingsystem I can think of, even the NES. Most of these games are fighting ones, street fighter style using the DB characters. There has been 3 RPGs releasedfor DB and they are all for the SNES.

The game Dragon Ball Z Legends is also a fighting game with a twist. Thegameplay is completely different than the other DB games I've played. The game follows the complete story of DBZ, from the arrival of Vegita tothe defeat of Bu. The game is very linear but still since the story is cool soit is tolerable. The game is different in the sense that the characters onlytakes up a small section of the screen and the whole gameplay is 3D and thecharacter and fly freely thru the scene. Up to three characters can be fightingon one side, so in really cool situations like the battle with the Androids, Vegita, Future Trunks and Goku can be fighting against Android 16, 17 and 18at the same time. Although the player only controls one player, it is stillcool, the characters in the game does not get hurt but being punched or comboedon, they can only be hurt after the power bar of one side fills up and thecharacter the player uses releases a ki blast against his oppenet. For thestrong characters, it takes three ki blasts to kill an oppenent, for weakcharacters, it takes around 4-5 ki blasts to kill an oppenent. The gamegives a ranking to the player on how closely he follows the storyline whileplaying the game. For example, letting Kylrin get killed by Freeza willyield Goku to become Super Saiyan, and killing bu with the genki dama willgive the player a special ending.

The game is pretty intense but it takes some time getting use to since thegameplay is completely different than any other fighting games I've played. But when you are good, you can connect around 23 hits against the oppenent. The game follows every important battle in DBZ so it is just like playingthru the whole series :)

Gameplay: 9/10
Unique gameplay. A new concept of fighting introduced, a 3 on 3 battlescene is kinda fun, and interesting. But I would say that following thestory line does not really make a difference, having goku turn into supersaiyan against freeza does not help too much in terms of power.

Music: 7/10
Very repetitive music and really not that catchy. I concentrate on the battlemost of the time too, so the music kinda fades from my mind.

Story: 8/10
The story is exactly the same with Dragon Ball Z and so just go watch the anime or play the game and you'll find out :)

Graphics: 7/10
The graphics is not amazing, the characters are very small and not detailedat all, so graphically, i would say this is not a great game, but the gameplaymakes up for it.

Overall: 7.75/10
Although the game lacks graphically superioity and music is not stunning, thegameplay and the fact the it is a dragon ball game is good enough for theplayers to play it thru at least once :)
